HARRIS ACADEMY, ST JOHN'S WOOD
WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY AT CAMP INVOLVE?
A typical day at camp will involve a morning of training and practices based around a specific skill or technique such as dribbling, finishing or passing. This is followed by an afternoon of small-sided matches and tournaments either side of a lunch break.
WHO CAN ATTEND THE CAMP?
All boys and girls aged 5-13 are welcome, regardless of ability or previous playing experience.
WHAT IS THE COST?
Our current prices at Harris Academy work out as £40 per day. As a charity, Bloomsbury Football Foundation ensures that all players are able to attend our camps irrespective of their ability to pay. We therefore offer financial assistance to those that need.
WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD WEAR/BRING TO THE CAMP?
We ask that all children are dressed ready for sport and appropriately for the weather. Shin pads are essential, your child may not be able to take part in some (or all) of the activities if they do not bring shin pads. Children can wear trainers or astroturfs, football studs are not allowed as we will be playing in the sports hall. In inclement weather we recommend layers, so that your child can take off/put on extra layers if they get too hot or cold. Players should bring a nut-free snack, packed lunch and plenty of fluids.
CAN I STAY AND WATCH MY CHILD?
No, parent(s)/guardian(s) aren’t allowed to stay and watch except for the first 30 minutes of their child’s first day at camp.
WHAT TIMES DO OUR CAMP DAYS RUN TO AND FROM?
At Harris Academy, registration is 9-9:30am and collection is 3:30-4pm. Extended days are available from 8:30am until 4:30pm.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?
We have access to a large indoor area in which we eat lunch and run activities such as drama and arts & crafts. We also have an indoor sports hall suitable for playing futsal, football, dodgeball and other sports.
